In a remote jungle 20 miles from Mogok....
So they've cleared a little of the jungle and started to remove the overburden. So far they have recovered a tiny sapphire and moonstone rough on the surface which was surprising to me (the moonstone especially) and so I'm kind of excited to see what else they find.
This is going to be a long process as we only have enough funds for hand mining (literally). You can see the men using sheer muscle power to break the large rocks in this video. At this stage we probably won't start using a jackhammer until we reach the hard rock level as most of what is happening in here is exploratory.

It's really strange being part of this mining co-op where it's all pot luck.
Imagine staking a claim and digging without any modern methodology. No core drilling and no geological research. LOL it's like investing in lotto.
For those of you that are catching up on what this is all about. My partner and I decided to invest in a sapphire mine in Mogok right in the middle of a thick inaccessible jungle. This is week 2 after the fact. I'm totally envious that I'm not there to witness the unfurling of our Aladdin's cave.
